I’m not just the author of Destination Weddings For Dummies; I’m a world traveler and destination bride myself, having tied the knot with Vincent Sardone in Las Vegas on May 2, 1996. (And no, Elvis didn’t marry us; the Reverend Judy did.)

Trips have led me from Alaska to Zimbabwe. In the past decade
the majority have been site inspections to places that specialize
in destination weddings, honeymoons, and romantic travel.

My expertise in writing about destination weddings for
brides and grooms stems from the following experience:

Created New York Magazine’s
“City Weddings & Honeymoons” Sections

My interest in the bridal market began while I was
marketing director of New York magazine. There I
conceived and produced the magazine’s first “City
Weddings & Honeymoons” special section. Later, as
a freelancer, I researched and wrote several more
sections for the magazine targeting potential
brides and grooms.

I have been affiliated with About.com since 1997
as its Honeymoons/Romantic Getaways Guide.

Diamond Jewelry Expertise

I wrote “De Beers’ Guide to Diamonds of Quality", an informational brochure targeting prospective brides and grooms. Seven million copies were printed.

Academic Credentials

I hold a B.A. in English and an M.A. degree in journalism. In 1996, I entered NYU’s multimedia technology certificate program. A teacher as well as a student, I have taught Marketing Communications Writing at New York University.
